Experience Overview
Upon leaving school I trained at Catering School in Colwyn Bay, North Wales. However shortly after qualifying I realised I wanted a different career than catering.
I have always had a passion for high performance motorcycles; this interest was the impetus for pursuing a career in sales management with Kawasaki during the 1980’s. This led to the retail motor trade when I returned to North Wales.
I am considered an excellent communicator, which was essential for the sales positions I have held.
I returned to full time education to gain formal business qualification, whilst studying full time I also maintained a full time job, which I feel is evidence of my commitment to succeed.
As an Applications Trainer I have provided courses, at all levels of skill and from all employee levels of various companies, such as Tarmac, Marks & Spencer Financial Services, Pitmans, The Royal Engineers, GKN Defence and British Steel. My application training abilities extend to Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, Microsoft Exchange (client) and Microsoft Publisher.
As a Technical Trainer I have presented courses in supporting and implementing Windows 95, administering Windows NT4 Server and administering Exchange Server. Again, to a similar client base to that mentioned previously.
In my previous role I was mainly involved with installation and support for Windows 95 and Windows NT4 (server & workstation), Proxy server and Exchange Server. In addition to my software skills base I also have PC hardware installation and configuration experience. As a result of this I am fully conversant with TCP/IP, IPX/SPX and other networking protocols. Troubleshooting Lotus Domino, HP-Unix, Windows (NT & 95), Proxy Server and Exchange Server installations was and is a daily part of my duties.
I also have considerable experience and awards for Internet and Intranet design; currently I am involved with building a complete Intranet for an exclusive travel company.
Personal Information
I have always had a passion for fast vehicles, mainly large capacity motorcycles.
I have a daughter, Lianne born in 1992, her mother and I split sometime ago but I continue to see Lianne every other weekend.
Obviously, because of my IT based employment I also have an avid interest in PC’s.
Due to the catering history I enjoy gourmet food and wine, travelling frequently in France to savour that countries food.
